Han Zhang was born in Shanghai, China. He received both his B.S. and M.S. degree from the Dept. of Automation in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2011 and 2014 respectively. He got his Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics specialized in Optimization and Systems Theory from Dept. of Mathematics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2019. He was supervised by Xiaoming Hu, and co-supervised by Elias Jarlebring.
After spending two years in industry, he is now a tenure track associate professor in School of Automation and Intelligent Sensing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is currently with the research group of Autonomous Robot Lab.
His main research interest includes but not limited to inverse optimal control, system identification, optimal control with applications to legged robots, SLAM, rehabilitation and assistive robots.
